When I go the Waterfront in Norwich, it's not normally for a beer festival. Having played there many times over the years as a musician, I was curious to see how it would work as a beer festival venue.

The Norwich Craft Beer Festival was presented by Sir Toby's Beers (of Norwich Market fame) with a bunch of brewers jumping in to create a medley of interesting and punchy beverages. If you're interested in checking out the brewers and their beers, you can see them here.
Some of the less responsible members of THE SUB TXT decided to partake in a 12% Stout - not for me that one, but all reports this morning suggest hangovers aren't too bad.
Great my see my old chum Rich, along with the Norwich Amateur Brewers crew, knocking out a banging set of beers as always. Local beer lovers will know that the annual NAB festival is coming up soon on the 7th June at The Mad Cat in Norwich. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend it.
An unexpected dynamic to the Norwich Craft Beer Festival was the DJ's electronic music set booming across the venue. It worked a treat and created an upbeat vibe for the event. Top song of the night, which I captured on Shazam, was Holding On For Life by Broken Bells. Worth a listen.
So, what's the sub txt? Beer festivals and electronic music are very happy bed fellows. Great beers, great venue, great tunes - if it's on again next year, we'll be there.
